Descrizione : Egypt, Coptic culture, ca. 1st to 5th century CE. A lovely textile fragment displaying a segment of a vertical band or border in hues of beige, brown, yellow, and green. The fascinating textile presents the image of a standing, anthropomorphic figure facing right with one hand raised to their face below a target motif. Note the weaver's careful attention to detail, as is evident in the figure's slender fingers, lengthy, blonde hair, and cascading green robe or sash.
