Descripción : Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty, ca. 1550 to 1292 BCE. A finely preserved, mold-formed faience scarab pendant of ovoid form covered in layers of matte blue glaze. The topside bears finely detailed features including a folded wing carapace, sinuous legs, and a slender head with triangular eyes, all above a drilled suspension hole. The underside shows a series of hieroglyphs that when translated read, (the god) Amun (grants you) a refreshing holiday(?). Size: 0.57 L x 0.42 W (1.4 cm x 1.1 cm) Provenance: private Toronto, Ontario, Canada collection, by descent, acquired in Egypt in 1894 to 1896 All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
