Beschreibung : Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty, ca. 1550 to 1292 BCE. A finely preserved, mold-formed faience scarab pendant of ovoid form covered in layers of matte blue glaze. The topside bears finely detailed features including a folded wing carapace, sinuous legs, and a slender head with triangular eyes, all above a drilled suspension hole. The underside shows a series of hieroglyphs that when translated read, (the god) Amun (grants you) a refreshing holiday(?).
