This is the rating and price for Tall & Elegant Egyptian Alabastron

Description : Egypt, Third Intermediate, Dynasties 21-25, ca. 1069 to 664 BCE. An exquisite Egyptian alabastron, hand carved from translucent, white alabaster - hence the name, with a characteristically elongated body, twin ear-shaped projections/handles or lugs on each side of the body, and a flattened flared rim. The central spout hole opens to a wide and hollow interior. Quite simply, this piece is jaw dropping. The fact that the ancient artisan could create a pure abstract form from stone demonstrates a remarkable command of the medium and technique. Clearly the Egyptians were masterful sculptors! Custom, museum-quality stand. Size: 2 in diameter at widest x 7.75 H (5.1 cm x 19.7 cm), 11.25 H (28.6 cm) with stand The alabastron form originated in ancient Egypt in the 11th century BCE. The design of alabastra was first modeled on the palm tree with its columnar shape. The form was so favorable for its aesthetic appeal as well as usefulness for holding oil and perfumes, that it spread to Greece as well as other regions of the classical world as well as other locales of the ancient world including Assyria, Syria, and Palestine.
