Notes : Published:Royal Athena Galleries, New York, Art of the Ancient World, December 1962, p. 14, no. 21 The inscriptions on the front of the kilt, which flank a large symbol signifying Abydos, contain Padihor's titles and name, and the titles and name of Padihor's son, Wahibre-Nebpehty, who held the same offices as his father. Padihor's name is preceded by the word Osiris, meaning that he was deceased at the time the statue was carved. The inscription on the belt records an additional title of Padihor: Month-priest of Amun-Re, beautiful of plans. Inscribed belts on Egyptian statues were a royal prerogative until the rare instances occuring in the 25th and 26th Dynasties.
