Description : Egyptian, Second Intermediate Period to Late Dynastic Period, 14th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1725 to 332 BCE. This is a fine collection of 3 faience and stone beads and amulets from ancient Egypt. The first a dark faience bead with a long barrel shape, decorated with rows of knobs, and pierced all the way through for suspension. The light brownstone steatite button has an engraved seal face with a bird and winged disc motif, surrounded by four neb signs. The domed top has a rosette motif and radiating petals. The last is a pale brown stone amulet in the form of the Sacred Eye, also known as wadjet (also wedjat, Eye of Horus). Size of tubular bead: 1 L x 0.2 W (2.5 cm x 0.5 cm), circular bead: 0.5 L x 0.25 W (1.3 cm x 0.6 cm) Provenance: private Toronto, Ontario, Canada collection, by descent, acquired in Egypt in 1894 to 1896 All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
