Beschreibung : Pre-Columbian, Valley of Mexico, Teotihuacan culture, ca. 3rd to 7th century CE. An intriguing standing anthropomorphic figure carved from mottled dark-green stone with beige inclusions. The figure stands atop attenuated feet covered by an ankle-length skirt, wears a tunic atop the chest, and has a plateaued ridge delineating the upper body from the lower. The head is characteristically stylized with recessed ovoid eyes, a broad nose, full lips which are slightly ajar, and tab-shaped ears, all beneath a wide headband accentuated with an incised X-form register.
