Note : "When looking at Okeke's line drawings one can see them either as astoundingly modern portraits reminiscent of the finer moments of Picasso and Matisse, or as the quintessential distillation of uli abstract figurative technique. We have to pause, however, before applying words such as 'modern' or 'Picasso-esque' to Okeke's line drawings, and consider that what appears so familiarly 'modern' may actually be a conditioned response to an African aesthetic that Picasso borrowed from African traditions of figurative abstraction."BIBLIOGRAPHY:G.
