All Tuareg women wear a black or indigo robe with a cloth of the same fabric wrapped around their heads. These head cloths are held in place by weights, sometimes improvised. Wealthier women wear the Assrou n'swoul, an elaborate key-shaped pendant specifically made to act as a counterweight. This specimen, complex in design and of good workmanship, is striking for its beautiful patina and wear from prolonged use. Weight: 138 grams . Cm 6,00 x 27,50 x 0,40.
