Descrizione : A Tell el-Yehudiyeh Ware piriform juglet, Middle Bronze Age II, c. 2000 - 1550 BC, the base small and round, with narrow neck, single handle and wide, flat rounded rim. The sides of the vessel bear the distinctive punctured design arranged in opposing diagonal lines with incised outer border. H: 3 3/4 (9.5 cm). Intact with light surface wear. The body of the vessel is filled with something which has solidified, perhaps the original contents mixed with soil? A nice example of this classic pottery type first discovered by Flinders Petrie at the site of Tell el-Yehudiyeh in the Nile delta of Egypt. Cf.
