Descrizione : Eine Fruchtbarkeits- oder Kinderwunsch-Puppe 'Akuaba', Bei den Aschanti, dem größten Stamm der Akan-Gruppe, tragen Frauen, die sich Kinder wünschen, solche 'Akuaba-Puppen' in ihrer Kleidung mit sich. Die 'Akuaba' haben einen proportional großen, runden und flachen Kopf, der an ihren Ursprung als Darstellung einer Mond-Göttin erinnert, die für Fruchtbarkeit zuständig ist. Hat die 'Akuaba' ihren Zweck erfüllt, wird sie von der Mutter des erwünschten Kindes auf den Haus-Altar gestellt und verehrt - oder an die nächste Mädchen-Generation weitergegeben. Der untere Gesichts-Teil ist unter den breiten Augenbrauen-Bögen leicht vertieft und trägt eine lange, schmale Nase, sowie eckig gestaltete, kleine Augen und einen ebensolchen Mund. Der proportional lange Hals hat 4 eingekerbte, wulstige Ringe, ein Zeichen für ein erhofftes, gesundes Wohlgenährt-Sein des erwünschten Kindes. Der lange, runde Körper steht ohne Beine auf einem mitgeschnitzten, dicken, runden Sockel. Sie ist insgesamt ein perfekt und gekonnt gestaltetes Objekt, mit guter, alter Glanz-Patina und Farbabrieb an exponierten Stellen durch langzeitliche Verwendung. Keine Schäden! H: 34,5 cm, 1.
