Descrizione : Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, 21st to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 332 BCE. A fabulous necklace of a wearable form that is strung with dozens of faience beads in hues of blue, green, red, and beige. The composition is constructed with petite seed-form beads that act as spacers between the large tubular beads, and the necklace separates into three separate strands just past the upper terminals. Capped with a modern brass loop and clasp, this is a stylish example of ancient art combined with modern fashion! Size (necklace): 22.75 L (57.8 cm), (longest bead): 0.5 L (1.3 cm) Provenance: private Corpus Christi, Texas, USA estate collection, acquired 1960s to 1970s All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back. Condition report : Wearable as shown and strung in modern times. Faience beads are ancient, and stringing and brass components are modern. Minor nicks to ends of some beads, with light encrustations and fading to glaze pigment on several beads, otherwise intact and very good. Great remains of glaze pigment throughout. Very attractive!
