Descrizione : Egypt, Alexandria, Late Dynastic to Ptolemaic Period, ca. 664 to 30 BCE. A wonderful mold-formed faience amulet that depicts the Triad of Alexandria, all covered in turquoise-hued glaze. Portrayed on this amulet is the triad of Harpokrates - translated as Horus the child - in the middle, his mother Isis to his right, and Isis' sister Nephthys, goddess of sleep and night, on his left. All 3 figures stand nude atop an integral plinth and hold hands as a symbol of cohesiveness. An integral suspension tube atop the dorsal wall enables this piece to be worn as a pendant on a necklace or bracelet. Size: 0.8 W x 0.9 H (2 cm x 2.3 cm) Provenance: private Toronto, Ontario, Canada collection, by descent, acquired in Egypt in 1894 to 1896 All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
