Height 65/8 in. Bothmer notes: "It is truly amazing to what extent the sculptors of the seventh century B.C. were able to adopt certain features of Middle Kingdom statuary, and adapt them to Kushite taste so ably that even today, with the distance of thousands of years, it is sometimes difficult to distinguish works of Dynasties XII/XIII and Dynasties XXV/XXVI, a difference between them of over ten centuries. What a place Karnak must have been in the Late Period, when Middle Kingdom statues were standing or lying around, unscathed in the course of a millennium, so that they could be used as models for a new school of Egyptian sculptors working for Nubian masters, the Pharaohs of Dynasty XXV, and their Saite successors.''
