Description : Details: This lot consists of two (2) original antique hand-colored plates depicting Ancient Egyptian motifs. One, measuring approx. 23x18 overall, was published by J. Murray in 1820 and is titled From the Tombs of the Kings at Thebes, Discovered by G. Belzoni. The other, measuring approx. 28x20, was engraved by C. Lasinio and is uncaptioned. This pair of plates is from the holdings of Archaeologia Books and Prints. Established in 1983, Archaeologia was known for providing scholarly books of quality on the archaeology of Ancient Egypt, the Near East, Greece & Rome, and the Pre-Columbian Americas.
