The tetradrachms with the helmeted head of Athena, reverse AƟE, owl, circa 454-404 B.C., each 17.2g, and a silver nomos of Thurium (Lucania), the head of Athena wearing an Attic helmet with Scylla, reverse ΘOYΓIΩN with charging bull, circa 350 B.C., 6.7g; an Egyptian miniature Middle Kingdom pottery jar with tapering body and rounded base, 9.6cm high, and seven Greek pottery shards, 5cm-16cm (10)

Provenance : Provenance: Dr. Hans Stenzl (1880 Munich, Germany - 1980 Riehen, Switzerland). Dr Stenzl was a research chemist at F. Hoffmann-La Roche & Cie. AG and J.R. Geigy AG; he was the inventor of important pain-relieving and anti-rheumatic medications. He formed his collection of antiquities between 1953-1968. Private collection, London, inherited by the present owner in 1980.
