Description : Three Egyptian swivel rings with swivel scarabs Early New Kingdom, circa 1550-1400 B.C. Comprising a lapis lazuli and gold ring, the lapis scarab engraved with an ankh and neb sign, the tubular shank bound with wire with spherical terminals to either side of the scarab; a steatite scarab bound in gold and engraved with a repeat scroll motif, with separate 'U' shaped silver shank; and a green glazed steatite scarab, the underside with the cartouche for Thutmosis III, with epithet 'the Lower Egyptian King is established', set on a bronze shank, 2.5cm-2.7cm wide (3)

Condition report : Ring with lapis lazuli scarab: The scarab appears to be intact. There are some small tears to the gold mount that borders the base of the scarab. The wire wrapped around the top of the gold penannular ring has been replaced, with some soldered repairs. Steatite scarab and shank: There is a hairline crack and a possible repair to small chip to the curved back of the scarab near the piercing. The shank has been broken and repaired. It has a dark patina and worn surface. Green glaze scarab with bronze shank: The scarab appears to be intact with some chipping, hairline cracking and encrustation. There is a chip behind the proper left back leg. One end of the wrapped wire at the top of the bronze shank has been repaired with glue.
