Description : A Weapons History of Africa Meroe to Mau Mau' by A. W. Lindert is a work that opens up new vistas of interest pertaining to African weapons. The paperback 45 page booklet was published by The World-Wide Gun Report, Inc., has a copyright date of 1974 & is a June 1974 first printing copy. Pg. 38 pictures this curdely made pistol described as a hand cannon. 8 1/2 Bbl. is made of electrical conduit. Hand fashioned stock is made from a tree limb & fastened to the conduit w/ 1 brass & 1 iron band. The touch hole is drilled through the iron band & covered by a bent nail fastened to the left side of the stock. The weapon is intended to be fired by removing the cover & touching a lighted match to the touch hole. CONDITION: conduit bbl. shows scattered corrosion. Iron band & nail cover show rust & pitting. Stock shows hand carving marks w/ crack extending from butt portion. Book is stained w/ tattered cover. (01-18159/DS). ANTIQUE. $100-200.
