Description : Additional information: This used tool comes from the Senufo of Mali or Cote d'Ivoire.  ,But similar looms are found in many cultures throughout West Africa. This was part of a weaving equipment used in the production of cloth. Among the people of West Africa weaving is perform by men and by women. Weaving varied according to the loom type which means that the loom is a very important component of the weaving technique. Women and men use loom to produce bands of cloth that would be put together to get a large Handwoven cloth. These looms appear in various types and decoration according to local tradition. The shuttle houses the cotton thread which is the most important raw material available in many areas of West Africa.
