It embodied supernatural forces. The Kifwebe Society used it to ward off disaster or any threat. It was worn on ceremonies honoring a dead chief, at the installation of a new chief and at the welcoming of important visitors to the village. It had the capacity to heal by means of a supernatural force. 23 in H. This authentic African Tribal Sculpture has been examined by Near Infrared (NIR) Spectroscopy and is approximately 56 years old. A certificate of the examination will accompany the artwork.
