Description : Egypt, Late Dynastic, Dynasties 26 through 30, ca. 662 to 330 BCE. Wonderfully detailed small wooden cobra - uraeus ( a sacred serpent as an emblem of supreme power, worn on the headdresses of ancient Egyptian deities and sovereigns) - carved in striking pose, with hood extended. He wears a solar crown on his head and has a small suspension loop on reverse. Custom base. Size: 3.5 H (8.9 cm)
