Description : Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A lovely and wearable necklace constructed in modern times with dozens of petite faience seed beads glazed in a variety of blue hues. Centered on the composition is a blue-glazed faience pendant depicting Khnum, the ram-headed creator god thought to be the source of the Nile River. The plinth is secured within a vintage gilt copper base and hangs from a setting formed from 61% gold (equivalent to 14K+), and the verso of the dorsal pillar is stamped with petite hieroglyphic symbols.
