Description : Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A cast leaded-bronze figurine of Osiris, the god of the underworld, standing in mummiform while holding his signature heka scepter and flagellum (nekhakh) in bent arms atop his chest. Covered in green and brown patina, Osiris stares forward with almond eyes and has full lips and a broad nose beneath the Atef crown resting atop his head. Size: 1.125 W x 3.75 H (2.9 cm x 9.5 cm), 4.9 H (12.4 cm) on included custom stand. Provenance: ex-John B. Kendrick II collection, Denver, Colorado, USA, acquired 1965 to 1990, John B. Kendrick II was that son of John B. Condition report : Loss to crook of heka scepter, frontal uraeus cobra, tip of crown, and uraeus cobras beneath proper left ostrich feather. Surface abrasions, light encrustations, and softening to some finer details. Nice patina throughout. Tang beneath figure inserted into display stand and can be removed if desired.
