Hamilton of the War Office, about the ''glorious success...of our generals'', 1882; and some political and War Office correspondence of the early 1900s, including letters by Lord Cromer and others to Lady Talbot, over 20 items in all, occasional wear; Gambetta (Leon) Letter signed, to an Altesse, discussing French policy towards Egypt, the need for re-establishing order, and the claims of Mehemet Ali to form the only possible government, and expressing his confidence that the French and English governments will be able to achieve this with the help of his correspondent, 4 pages, 4to, Paris, 19 July 1882-Ismail Pasha (1830-1895, Khedive of Egypt) Letter signed, in French, to his aunt, sending news of the family, reporting that the ''second princess'' is still not well, and reporting that he is leaving for Rome on the following day, 2 pages, 8vo, integral blank, notepaper headed with a crowned I in gold, Naples, 16 January 1881; with a letter in the name of Abd-el-Kader, Emir of Algiers, a letter by Prince Ibrahim of Egypt, 1886, and a group of letters in Arabic relating to the reign of Mehemet Ali in Egypt, nineteenth century.
