Description : African art. Bambara, Mali. Iron mask. Visible defects and obvious signs of use. Rare, fascinating and mysterious small triangular-shaped iron mask that Andre Blandin on page 169 of his valuable book Fer Noir d'Afrique de l'ouest, December 1992 classified (a mask very similar to this one), as Bambara, without, however, ruling out the provenance Attiè and, above all, without revealing the use for which it was created. What is certain about this small mask is its antiquity, since by now the original iron is reduced to a sheet of rust.. Cm 11,00 x 7,00 x 2,00.
