Consulter la cote et le prix de African Quiver And Arrows From 1900'S

Description : This sheath or quiver and arrows came from the Central African Republic. The arrows were probably used for fishing or hunting small game animals, and when a villager went hunting, he would wear the quiver over one shoulder and a bow over the other. The quiver is hand-woven from plant fibers, and the four arrows have small barbs just below the tips. There are small metal loops at the top of the quiver to hold the arrows in place, and these artifacts were used by village people in their everyday lives when they went into the bush. The quiver measures 26 1/2 in. long and 5 in wide at the base. The four (4) arrow tips and and three (3) spearheads for hunting small game came from the CAR, too. They have small barbs on the sides to keep them embedded in the animal being hunted. The arrow tips measure 9 1/2 in. long and the spearheads run up to 10 5/8 in. long. From the Dale Baker collection.
