Description : Five pair of cufflinks by Antonio Pineda, to include two mixed metal modernist, inset malachite cabochons, channel set amethyst bands, scroll leaf form. Largest modernist measures 1 x 1. Condition: The amethyst pair spring in need of attention. This lot was formerly owned by Arnold Crane, an American collector and photographer of global renown. From the 1950s through the 1990s, Crane enjoyed unparalleled access to such giants as Man Ray, Walker Evans, Ansel Adams and Edward Steichen and many others. His photography collection was the largest in the world at that time and became the lynchpin acquisition of a special wing of the Getty Museum in Los Angeles. His collections of African, Oceanic and Native American art are well-known. His own work is found in the permanent collections of the Met, MOMA and the Art Institute of Chicago.
