Consulter la cote et le prix de 4 Egyptian Pre-Dynastic & Near Eastern Stone Mace Heads

Description : Egypt, Pre-Dynastic Period, Naqada II, ca. 3500 to 3000 BCE, Ancient Near East, perhaps Bactrian, ca. 1st millennium BCE. A striking ensemble of 2 Egyptian and 2 Near Eastern stone mace heads all with central socketing holes. Skillfully carved from banded alabaster, the first Egyptian mace head presents a squat, piriform body with a flat top and tapered bottom. The next Egyptian mace head exhibits a teardrop-shape nicely complemented by a gorgeous surface of mottled light gray and white with natural, cordovan-hued veining. The remaining 2 examples hail from the ancient Near East. One is sculpted from blue-gray stone to display a spherical form, while the last showcases a tubular form with a meticulously carved exterior of several petaloid spikes.
