Description : Ancient Egypt, Second Intermediate Period, 15th to 17th Dynasty, ca. 1650 to 1550 BCE, New Kingdom, 18th to 20th Dynasty, ca. 1550 to 1077 BCE, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE, Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A lovely gathering of faience amulets from ancient Egypt and a stone intaglio from the Roman Empire. A pair of Egyptian Second Intermediate Period faience scarabs display either repeating fish-form hieroglyphs or a sphinx with one paw raised. A New Kingdom stone scaraboid has a smooth topside and the image of an ungulate carved into the base. A mold-formed faience pendant of Bes from the Late Dynastic Period shows the deity wearing his signature feathered crown. A hand-carved yellow stone stamp seal from the Roman Empire bears the incised image of a somewhat emaciated lion. Condition report : Small chips to Roman stamp seal and Bes pendant as shown, remaining 3 scarabs are intact and very good. All items have softening to some finer details and light encrustations within some recessed areas. Great preservation to most detailing.
