Description : Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom to Late Dynastic Period, 18th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1550 to 332 BCE. A wonderful selection of four petite Egyptian artifacts: 2 scarab pendants, 1 scarab amulet, and a wadjet pendant. First are two New Kingdom steatite scarabs with insectile characteristics along their topsides, each with a suspension hole drilled lengthwise through the body. One scarab bears a series of 4 drilled circles, and the other features two pairs of uraeus cobras facing in opposing directions. Next is a black stone scarab amulet that bears an indiscernible image incised along its bottom. Last is a Late Dynastic faience wadjet pendant (also wedjat, Eye of Horus) bearing a signature ocular form that is covered in lustrous blue-green glaze. Size of largest (scarab w/ uraei): 0.8 L x 0.55 W (2 cm x 1.4 cm) Provenance: private Corpus Christi, Texas, USA estate collection, acquired 1960s to 1970s All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back. Condition report : Each piece has age-commensurate surface wear and nicks, with softening to some incised details on topsides and bottoms of each scarab, and light encrustations, otherwise intact and very good. Great preservation to overall forms and most finer details.
