Notas : Lionel Smit is a South African artist, best known for his contemporary portraiture and sculpture. Each of Smit's works offers us an entry point into the variety and richness that lies beneath every face we encounter in life, whether applied in bronze or paint. Smit's work has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, his painting has been exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in London receiving the Viewer's Choice Award. In 2016, Smit's sculpture "Morphous" was exhibited in Union Square, New York. In 2018 Smit held a solo exhibition with the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in North Miami.
