Notas : This drawing follows the exhibition of Claudette Schreuder's sculpture of the same name in 2000 at the Jack Shainman gallery in New York. Burnt by the Sun shows a woman dressed in white in what at first glance appears to be pink gloves. Upon closer inspection, it is evident the woman has experienced sunburn on her hands. Here, Schreuder makes a commentary on humanity's tendency for engaging in excess.
