Descripción : African Art Pende fetish figure for curing of sickness and disease, from Zaire, Congo. Carved wooden sculpture has raffia details as hair and bracelets. Figure has brass bead in forehead and as belly button. Figure appears to have protruding boil in neck, a broken jaw that is aligned to the side, his belly button is set to the side, and holds its genitalia in its right hand. Half of face is painted with red oil paint. Appears to be punctures to wood in side of ribs and back. Sculpture measures approximately 32 inches in height by 8 inches in width by 8 inches in depth.
