Descripción : Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate Period, 21st to 25th Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 664 BCE. A mold-formed faience ushabti of a petite and finely decorated form. The slender figure stands in mummiform with fused legs delineated via a shallow cleft between the shins and holds both hands atop the abdomen with raised thumbs, a painted pick and hoe were perhaps present at one time. The gentle visage bears bulging eyes, flared nostrils, full lips flanked with indented mouth corners, and puffy cheeks, all surmounted by a tripartite wig that sits low on the brow. Covered in attractive layers of blue glaze, this is a wonderful figural example from ancient Egypt!
