Descripción : Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate Period, 21st to 25th Dynasty, ca. 1070 to 664 BCE. A beautiful and petite faience bead of a spherical form depicting a trio of protective ocular symbols known as Eyes of Horus (also wadjet, wedjat). Each wadjet bears a single eye with a dark-hued pupil, a wavy eyebrow on top, and a pair of lengthy lashes below. The lateral panels depict delicate flowers with four petals apiece, and a slender suspension hole is pierced through the middle of each floral form. The entire bead is covered in lustrous blue glaze that creates a mesmerizing presentation.
