Descripción : Three Egyptian gilded cartonnage open-work panels Ptolemaic Period, circa 305-30 B.C. The elaborate pectoral consisting of a winged scarab on top of a six-stranded 'wasekh' collar with two falcon terminals, and the winged goddess Maat, holding a feather in both hands, 15in (38cm) high, the two other parts belonging together to form the apron, the upper fragment with a Ba bird at the top and the two sons of Horus, Sety and Hapi, facing each other, 12¾in (32.5cm), the lower fragment depicting Duamutef and Qebehsenuef in the upper register and the sisters Isis and Nephthys in the posture of mourning in the lower one, both sections crossed by a central inscribed column of hieroglyphs containing an invocation to Osiris by a mother asking for protection on behalf of her deceased son 'Hor', 13½in (34cm) (3)
