Descripción : Carved wooden fetish Doll with painted glass detail in stomach to symbolize divination. Fetishes (from the Portuguese word feitio, meaning artificial, or false), ‘an inanimate object worshiped for its supposed magical powers or because it is considered to be inhabited by a spirit.‘ Wooden doll is wrapped in raffia skirt with textile, brass, and iron metal attachments. Doll measures approx 30 inches in height by 9 inches in width by 7 inches in depth. Doll has minor surface wear like discoloration of fabric, consistent with age.
