Descripción : A Coptic polychrome jar, Roman Egypt, c. 5th – 6th Century AD, the body with a face modeled into the side with large almond-shaped eyes, conical noce and small ears. The features are detailed in black slip, the rest of the vessel adorned with geometric decoration in red and black slip. H: 5 3/8 in (13.7 cm). Intact, mineral encrustation. Ex New Jersey estate.
