Descripción : Ancient Egypt, Third Intermediate to Late Dynastic Period, 21st to 31st Dynasty, ca. 1069 to 332 BCE. A sublime ensemble of forty-two mold-formed faience amulets in a palette of colors ranging from creamy white and golden-brown to seafoam green and sapphire blue. The figural amulets include three striding figures wearing a double crown, five depictions of a striding Horus, ten depictions of striding female deities, four standing Isis figures, a seated Maat, a standing Osiris, and two unidentifiable figures. The other amulets depict a large winged Isis, a heart, a pair of vultures, a trio of falcons, a fork-tailed sparrow, a frog, four wadjet emblems (wedjat or Eye of Horus), a djed pillar, a crown of Osiris, and an unidentifiable fragment covered in golden iridescence. Amulets like these would have been placed inside the linen wrappings of a mummy to protect them in their journey through the afterlife. Size of largest (Horus) : 1.55 H (3.9 cm).
