Descripción : African Art Baule Kpan Mask from the Ivory Coast, West Africa. The Kpan masks, with elaborate coiffures and refined carvings represent the Senior female in ceremonies. Mask is carved wood with red, black, and white tone oil painted details. Mask measures approx 15 inches in length by 7 inches in width by 7 inches in depth. Mask has surface wear consistent with age. Appears to be superficial crack in wood along parting in hair.
