Descripción : Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. An intriguing gathering of 3 ovoid amulets: 2 scaraboid amulets formed from faience, and 1 scarab carved from stone. The first scaraboid amulet is in the form of a traditional Mesopotamian duck weight with the bird's head facing backwards and resting on its back. The underside features a Hathoric head flanked with a pair of uraeus cobras. The second, green-hued scaraboid features a human head in front of a beehive-style coiffure on the topside and a quartet of petite hieroglyphs on the bottom. The largest amulet is a stone scarab with two rows of hieroglyphs on the bottom next to a Hathor-headed mirror. Size of largest (scarab): 0.75 L x 0.55 W (1.9 cm x 1.4 cm) Provenance: private Corpus Christi, Texas, USA estate collection, acquired 1960s to 1970s All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back. Condition report : Small loss to tip of duck beak as shown, green scaraboid and stone scarab are intact and very good. All pieces have light abrasions and softening to some finer details. Great preservation to overall forms.
