Notes : The present lot was a gift to the current owners from Professor Lionel Bowman. Born in the Orange Free State, Lionel Bowman studied at the Royal Academy of Music. Throughout his career Bowman maintained a prestigious standard towards his craft, he earned prestigious medals and became the professor of piano at the University of Stellenbosch and co-authored 'The Magic Touch', subsequently leading him to become one of South Africa's finest musicians and being noted in the New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians.1 Bowman passed away in 2006 at the age of 87.
