Notes : "From inception, CCA Lagos has continuously championed ideas and programs that promotes the growth and appreciation of contemporary art in Nigeria. My support for CCA Lagos at this point is to enable them sustain the ideals of their late founder Bisi Silva, and successively continue to provide a platform for contemporary art to thrive." "My models are chosen from varied sources. Sometimes they are friends around me, other times they’re sourced from random pix, and the mass media. They are not meant to be known faces, otherwise it takes away from the exploratory nature of the composition and it’s process; at such, has a beginning and an end. If appropriated from the media, I reconfigure the features to suit my purpose as my interest is in mostly capturing moods and expressions." Ebenezer Akinola Rom Isichei was born in Asaba, Delta State and earned a Higher National Diploma in Painting from the Yaba College of Technology, Lagos in 1984. On graduation, Isichei worked at three advertising agencies in various management positions before channeling his energy into full-time studio work in 1997. Following a successful practice spanning over 25 years, Isichei pursued further studies in the UK, gaining a Post Graduate Diploma, and Masters in Fine Art from the Chelsea College of Art in 2013.
Condition_report : Please note that this work has not been exhibited outside of it's frame. The work appears to be hinged at the corners to it's mount. Please note that the sheet, as per the catalogue illustration, appears to be irregular along the edges. This is likely inherent. Light discolouration along the edges with scattered very small microtears in places. The sheet exhibits a light undulation, noticed on close inspection and at an angle. Very light handling marks to the corners/edges.
