Notes : In the 1970s, Francois and Sylvia would drive north from Montagu every spring. On one trip they ventured to Kimberley to attend Krige's exhibition at the William Humphreys Gallery. Whilst there Francois was taken on a tour of a diamond mine and shown some of the large stones. So intrigued was he by the quality of light emanating from these diamonds that he painted a number of abstracted and geometric studies depicting the gem's facets and colours.BIBLIOGRAPHY:J.
