This is the rating and price for Wurkun Figure, 2002.0

Description : Wurkun Figure Nigeria The Wurkun live in Nigeria between the Jukun and Mumuye ethnic groups. They make statues with a rich patina that are elongated with a high round head topped with a crest. These statues played an important role in keeping away evil forces and evil influences. These statues could also be installed in houses. A statue made of hardwood with an intense and deep brown patina. The long neck tends to anatomically separate the head, which is very elaborately made and offsets the rest of the body with an abstract shape. The angular arms contour and frame the belly with a particularly noticeable navel. On the head there is a voluminous ridge covered with numerous engraved stitches that make the elaborate hairstyle typical of male figures. These figures were made with an iron base that was used to plant them in the soil for the purpose of protecting crops and harvests. They were also kept in a hut at the center of the village to promote and ensure peace in the community.
