Description : Details: These antique hand-made spears or assegais were part of a collection of folk art and artifacts assembled by a teacher who traveled in east Africa in the 1950s and 1960s. Both are double-ended. One has blades at both ends, and is 55.5 long. Measured with their shanks, the larger blade is 13 x 2, and the smaller one is 10 x 1.5. The second spear is 57.5 long, with a blade 16.5 x 1.5. The other end is a tapered, conical piece of iron 9 long.
