Provenance : Maurice Pierre Lapalud (1868-1935), coll. in situ between 1925 -1930 SVV J.- E. Prunier, Louviers, L'Exigence du Beau, 20 May 2018, Lot 252 Bruno Frey, Arnay-le-Duc, France Lapalud, born on 22 September 1868 in Miliana, Algeria, was a French colonial official. After holding various positions in the colonial administration in the Congo and India, he was governor of Gabon in 1918 and made it to governor-general of French Equatorial Africa in 1920 before serving as governor of the Ivory Coast in 1925. A square in Abidjan bears his name.
