Provenance : Provenance: Sir Henry Wallis RWS (1830-1916) collection, UK. with Charles Ede Ltd, London ( Egyptian Antiquities, 2008, nos 60 & 61). with Rupert Wace Ancient Art Ltd, London. Arnold Meijer collection, the Netherlands, acquired from the above June 2011. Henry Wallis was a Pre-Raphaelite painter, writer and collector. He is also known for being the author and illustrator of a catalogue of the MacGregor collection, Egyptian Ceramic Art, 1898. For similar, cf. Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, acc. no. 26.7.1138, formerly in the Carnarvon collection.
