Description : A fantastically detailed terracotta figurine of Bes, Ptolemaic Period, c. 2nd-1st Century BC, naked and standing with hands on knees on top of a base, H: 5 2/3 in (14.4cm). The back is unmodelled with a circular vent. The plumed headdress the figure would be wearing is lost. Cf. Bailey, Ptolemaic and Roman terracottas from Egypt in the British Museum, pl. 15, no. 3085.
