Description : Southern Africa, Zulu people, ca. early 20th century CE. A fine and lightweight spear comprised of a wooden shaft joined to an iron tip. A strip of wood reinforces the tang of the spearhead where it fits into to the wooden shaft. The blade is narrow with a midrib running the length of both sides. This is a lightweight weapon, ideal as a throwing projectile for smaller game animals.
